 A few years back I posted the Jumpstarts complete non-album tracks and I lamented that I did not have the album. Shortly afterwards Timmy from Talk the Ska sent me the album and I thought I shared it with you folks but I've searched through the blog and it turns out I never did share it. 

I am now correcting this injustice and I am openly thanking Timmy for this gift.

Froglegs demos

 

Froglegs was a Russian neo-rocksteady ska band that only ever released one album. They released one demo tape before the album and then released a second demo tape after the album.

Cornerstone 96-98

This band was out of Vancouver, WA and recorded an album in the late 90's that never quite got finished or released, until just a few days ago. This band has a unique style with the lead singer who plays an upright bass. One more reason to pick it up, proceeds from the album will benefit The National Brain Tumor Society in the name of Joshua Dalton, the bands founder and bassist who is battling cancer. Although the band has been broken up for many years now, their music can now be properly enjoyed and remembered.

Natural Rhythm - Bluebeat and Ska

Here's another great contribution by Rikard.

Natural Rhythm formed in Bradford, Northwest UK in 1990. They recorded this one album for Skank Records before breaking up in 1995. Their song Bluebeat and Ska might sound familiar to you if you have the Ska Wars 4 cd compilation. (If you don't have it it is on Hangover Heart Attack)

They have recently began playing again and have added new songs to their set list. Check out their Myspace.

The only release from this Santa Cruz, California band from 1990. Originally on Unicorn Records. Members of this band went on to form California's Northern Soul band Durango 95.

Skiptooth - double feature

Skiptooth was from Moreno Valley (Riverside) California in the mid 90s and, if I'm not mistaken, was started by former members of The Specs. They had a unique mid-tempo rocksteady / traditional sound, but not quite 60s, more like mid 70s 'traditional' with a noticeable 3rd wave tinge.
This one download has both their 9 song cd "Cool Ska Cool", and their 4 song demo tape "Skiptown vol.1"
