Fantastic. I'd always thought it was Madness who blue-beated this one... is there any info on the band and did they release anything else? Not much info online other than the youtube comments...

The band was from England and they had to resort to calling themselves The Cats - England because there was a hugely successful band from the Netherlands called the Cats that were performing at the same time.

I've heard a couple albums by the Dutch Cats - not my cup of tea. They might have done a reggae song but I didn't ever hear of one.

The Cats - England performed for almost 10 years (between 1967 and 1976)and they released a handful of singles which are hard as hell to track down.

Here's an incomplete discography:

Thankyou for the info...

Youtube only told me the bass player went on to play with Linton Kwesi Johnson and that they were from the East End (as the fact they recorded Knees Up Mother Brown will attest... would love to hear that one!!)
