I HAVE ALLOWED COMMENTS AGAIN
There is a YouTube channel called Skaville City that posts a lot of rare ska songs. It's a good channel and I have actually gained a lot of knowledge from that channel. There have been several songs posted on that channel that I didn't know about. I am a subscriber.
But the truth is that channel posts very little original content. The bulk of that channel is things that were taken from other sources. Mostly from other YouTube channels but also from blogs and other online sources. The arrogant creator of that channel rarely gives credit for the sources for the things that they post. They want you to believe it's all their own doing.
A significant number of things posted on that channel are from Tone and Wave. I think fans of this blog have already seen that. I like that the music is being shared and I don't need any sort of credit for spending my own money on these recordings, spending hours ripping and editing these recordings, or scanning the images and spending time editing these scans. I don't ask for credit for any of these things. It's the bands that deserve the credit.
But for somebody else to come along - sometimes within an hour of a post that I spent many hours on - posting it on their channel and wanting credit for it, it sucks.
Here's some context. The guy who does the Skaville City channel asked if I had anything in his wantlist. I mentioned that I had this record but I had not ripped it yet. On December 6th I told him I'll rip it and post it on the blog in a week or so. Because I have a job and a family and because it is the holiday season and this blog is not the most important thing in my life I didn't quite get around to ripping the record.
So I get these messages. Look at the date and times. This is strange behavior:
I don't quite get all of the references but I have made the joke many times in the past that "I've never been wrong about anything in my life!". That's obviously a joke. Why somebody doesn't recognize that as a joke says more about them than about me.
Anyway, this is not the first time I have had interactions with this weirdo in the past. In fact I get lots of messages like this. This is why I stopped comments on the blog. This is why I stopped Facebook.
I am not a ska expert and I never claimed to be one. I'm just some guy who collects and shares ska music. I've been told plenty of times that I need to correct something wrong that I posted on the blog. The shit I post comes from what I can find on the internet. If it's been on the internet for 22 years and I post it on the blog why the hell would I correct it because one single nobody says that the thing I posted is wrong? They could be right but I don't know and I don't care. I just like the music. That's it. I don't give a shit about the band members and what other thing they did. Most of the time I have interacted with ska musicians they say "Hey, you like that ska I did in the 80s? We'll here's the acoustic guitar singer songwriter horseshit I'm working on now! You should love it!" I don't love it and I don't care.
So here you go Skaville City. I spent the money on this record. I did the rips, the editing, and the scans. So go ahead and post it on your YouTube channel.
I told you before, you idiot, that if you ever start fucking with me again I will publicly post your comments and I will shut Tone and Wave down giving you full credit for the end of this blog.
This is the end. This is the last Tone and Wave post.
12/27/2022 is the 15th anniversary of this blog. I have lots more rarities that I haven't posted yet. Skaville City has made a conscious decision to end this blog. The only way I will continue is if I get a public apology from the asshole who runs Skaville City.

This is a great site I hope you don't close it down. Just ignore what anyone else says about you because it will be sad if you decide to not do this no more. I like your site and I like Skaville City on youtube. I am also a subscriber of that channel just like you are.

En definitiva el sujeto que existe detrás de Skaville City es extraño. Cuando entre en su Discord parecía un sujeto normal, con ganas de compartir música, y supongo, charlar. Sin embargo, sus comportamientos llegaron a ser un tanto irracionales. No suelo estar conectado a las redes sociales mucho tiempo, un día no conteste los mensajes que había enviado (y no exageró, solo fue un día), me sacó del servidor de Discord y me bloqueó, no sin antes insultarme (y siendo sincero no entiendo el porqué de los insultos).
En fin. Esto lo expreso para poder contextualizar, que en efecto, hay muchos idiotas en internet, y realmente no se porqué empieza conversaciones para luego terminar insultando a las personas. Pero en fin, es un bicho raro.
He de ser franco y decir que no quiero que el blog deje de existir, me ayudó a tener un gusto más profundo por el ska (y de paso, a otros géneros musicales), a pesar de haber llegado algo tarde (cuando muchos links estaban rotos), podría decir que no existe ningún otro sitio con la biblioteca musical que tiene este blog.
Pero, si es tú decisión, es completamente respetable.

I've never had any issues from the guy who runs Skaville City channel. I am member of his Discord and he has always been very friendly to me. He was very helpful when I asked him if he had 2 albums which I had been trying to find for a long time. He shared the 2 albums I wanted and I was pleased about that.

I just want to say that I'm very surprised that this has happened. I'm subscriber of Skaville City which is equally great to your blog. I have not yet joined Discord and was going to join it with the intention of sharing music for his channel on Youtube which I still will do when I get the time to do that. One of my friends recommended it to me because he is already a member there and told me that it is a great hangout.
Anyway I will get to the point that there is always two sides to every story and it just looks to me as if you both annoyed each other. Hopefully you both can carry on the great work that you both do and somehow co-exist without further confrontation between the both of you.
To Tone and Wave and Skaville City please keep up this great work that you both do because I am a fan of both of you. Please no more fighting online and peace to the both of you.

I'm one of the admins at Skaville City and I'm not shocked as I knew this day would come.
I just want to say that it is for the best that you and the creator of Skaville City just avoid each other because there has been an ongoing issue between you two. I also want to say that I can assure you that Skaville City channel on Youtube is a mixture of songs taken from various sources online as well as so many that were self ripped between me and other admins also including the creator. Many members of Skaville City Community do share music to be uploaded to Skaville City on Youtube. We do also thank you for the rarities that you post on your blog which a lot we have used. There are other channels on Youtube which have also used your rips which I'm sure you know about.

As am outsider looking in and reading all the content here is making me wonder who is really the guilty one between you two creators. I see that you've posted evidence of him being angry at you, but you haven't posted the evidence of what you had said to him before you went silent on him.

It looks to me as if you just want to make that creator of Skaville City look bad by only posting evidence of his anger at you. He obviously had a reason to be angry at you and you felt the need to make it public on your blogger , but are you allowed to do this or are you in violation of your blogger account?
If I were you I would take down this post just in case you are in violation of your blogger account because you might risk getting your account suspended or closed down. I'm only warning you because I know this happened to another blogger who I used to follow a few years ago. He did same sort of thing as you , but lost his account over it.
You are not really doing yourself any justice here by doing this and because I'm an outsider who doesn't know either of you creators and just reading your page. It looks to me as if you are the guilty one because you failed to post any evidence of what you had said to him. Without that evidence you can't be fully believed in what you've said.
The other thing that doesn't make sense is how you have said Skaville City is a good channel and you're subscribed to it , but then you go on to say it lacks originality which looks to me as if you contradict yourself. You either like it or you don't so why contradict yourself?
I already know who is guilty and to me it is so obvious due to way you write up this issue.

For all of the positive comments, I thank you all for taking the time to comment. I guess shutting down the comments and social media wasn't such a good idea. The people who are thankful were silenced while the people with nothing but insults, threats, and demands always happened to find a way to message me.
Ten years ago I was getting 500 views a day. Now I'm getting an average of 36 views a week. People have really lost interest.
I'm not going to let this one psychopath and his cronies bring an end to my blog. If people really are interested then I can see going one more year. But this will be the final year. To be honest, I'm kinda bored of it all.

That's fair. I never really expected an apology. I've been dealing with this guy for 4 years. He's not the type to ever see himself in the wrong. He's the perfect innocent victim.
And, yes, shutting down the blog would be entirely my decision but there was a time I told him to never contact me again. I said that if he starts with the insults I'll shut my blog down and blame him. That worked for a few months. Then he couldn't resist his usual series of insult after insult so I called his bluff and publicly "shut the blog down and blamed him" just like I said I would. More than anything I was curious to see how he'd react. It took him a whole day to post the thing I just posted but he shamelessly did it anyway.

I have never had a problem with anybody sharing anything I post. I also don't have a problem with people not giving me credit. What I do have a problem with is him taking all the credit himself to the point that people accuse me of stealing from him without giving him credit. That's where I draw the line.

As I have said before I have absolutely no problem with people sharing anything I post. Keep doing what you're doing. I give you my blessing to post anything from my blog. And that goes to anybody who has a YouTube channel, a blog, or any other platform. I put the music out there because I want it to reach a bigger audience. If you post it you're helping me in my efforts.
But there was a time quite recently when somebody asked me if I had a record. It took me a few days to find it but I ripped it and edited it and did all of the scans and then posted it on the blog. Then I emailed the person and told them I had posted it. Several hours later I get a response telling me that they don't need it because they just got it from Skaville City and they asked why I didn't give Skaville City credit on my post when I "obviously" stole it from there.
After years of getting these weird insulting emails from this guy, now I'm being accused by his fans of stealing from him. Am I supposed to just let it go and not say anything about it? For how long?
